“Mountain Man” Cougars are mostly solitary animals that have the largest territorial range of any animal in North America. As a photographer it was always thrilling to capture this elusive cat on film. Over thousands of days afield I have only seen a wild mountain lion a handful of times Their silence is eerie. This slender cat has a round head and erect ears. Their powerful forequarters, neck and jaw proved to be a challenge when sculpting this beautiful creature. – Mike Barlow
